A Message From the President:
Hello PMI MN Members! Wow! I can't believe we are now in 2024. Happy New Year to All. Blessings and prosperity to everyone. As we embark on a new and promising year, PMI MN Leadership is thrilled to extend a warm new year to each member of our dynamic project management community. Your commitment to the profession and excellence has been a driving force behind our shared success, and we are excited to be of service to you and about the opportunities that lie ahead. Throughout the year, we will spotlight your new board members so you can get to know them. Last year was all about Artificial Intelligence, the opportunities, the ethical/bias concerns, the anxiety of how it could negatively impact our jobs, and, on the flip side, the excitement of how it could make our jobs so much easier. As the project management landscape continues to evolve and adapt, 2024 will be a year of continued innovation, and it is our collective responsibility to stay ahead of the curve. This year, the PMI MN chapter will focus on embracing emerging technologies and methodologies and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and education through the programs and events we offer our members. We hope you will join us as we explore and learn about Artificial Intelligence, Agile, etc., and how best to influence driving results. Our commitment to making a positive impact extends beyond our professional endeavors. In 2024, we are expanding our volunteering initiatives to give back to the community. As part of the PMI Global "Hours for Impact" initiative, PMI MN will execute two new programs. Your time will make a meaningful difference in joining us to make these programs successful. Keep an eye on our communication channels for upcoming volunteer opportunities, and let's make a collective impact through service to our community. As we look forward to the possibilities of this coming year, we invite you to engage actively in our community through volunteerism. Being informed and engaged as we navigate the ever-changing landscape of project management is crucial to our community's survival and success. Your perspectives, ideas, and experiences contribute to the richness of our group, and we encourage you to share your knowledge and time with fellow members. Please visit our website at www.pmi-mn.org to volunteer. Please save the date for our 40th-anniversary celebration at our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Gala on May 4, 2024. We plan to open it up to our members to attend and celebrate with us for a small fee. Details will follow soon.
In Gratitude,
Geraldine Marks, MBA, PMP®, CSM® CSPO® PMI MN President, CEO
