Board Member Spotlight | Brandon Guthman, PMP®
| Brandon Guthman is currently serving in his first term as Director At Large for the PMI MN Chapter and Board Liaison for the Membership Committee team. Brandon’s previous roles have included Co-Chair/Vice Chair and Chair of the Information Technology (IT) Committee. In serving in each committee leadership role, Brandon has contributed to the IT strategy of PMI-MN, including stepping up to the many opportunities of the position, building trusting relations with key stakeholders, and ensuring the overall committee and related activities are successful. The success of Brandon’s efforts led to being awarded the October 2020 Volunteer of the Month. Brandon’s previous experience in IT has allowed him to be a knowledgeable leader when partnering efforts with each Chapter committee. Since joining the Board of Directors, Brandon has been focused on leveraging his experiences with technology to help drive additional membership growth. Brandon is currently an Enterprise Storage Engineer with HealthPartners and is committed to their mission and vision. Mission: To improve health and well-being in partnership with our members, patients and community. Vision: Health as it could be, affordability as it must be, through relationships built on trust. Brandon’s approach to leadership is: There is a direct link between leadership and communication. To be an effective leader, you must be an effective communicator. - Listen. Listen to understand, not just listen. Humans have two ears and one mouth, listen intently to become an effective listener. Listen twice as much as you speak.
- Strive to become a great storyteller to build greater trusting relationships. Storytelling has a greater impact to convey information then facts and figures alone.
- As a lifelong learner, people may ultimately forget exactly what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel. Humans are imperfect and although you may not always have your words perfect, always safeguard your main sentiment and ensure it is received as intended.

Organizations that adopt Disciplined Agile go to market sooner, deliver value faster and make their customers happier. She is a celebrated author, sought after speaker at national and international conferences and is a regular contributor on projectmanagement.com.
