Message from the President

As our Chapter celebrates our 35th anniversary, we want to focus special attention on the professionals—PMI members, credential holders, volunteers and all those who consider project, program and portfolio management their profession—for their great accomplishments in not just delivering successful outcomes, but in making a difference.

Sara Swanson, our Chapter’s President Elect has been leading the efforts to plan a Chapter celebration event this summer.   Sara states, “I am excited to see all of our PMI MN members and volunteers celebrating the PMI MN Chapter’s 35th anniversary during a beautiful fun night out at the St. Paul Saints Game on Saturday August 10th! We will have matching PMI MN Chapter t-shirts for everyone attending to wear, along with a fun group picnic for members and volunteers and their friends and family.  See our PMI MN logo on the large screen TV over the field, and there will also be a surprise event added to the evening.  My family and I are all looking forward to attending this fun way to get together with my fellow PMI MN chapter members and volunteers and watch a favorite Summer game!”   I agree with Sara’s sentiments, and look forward to seeing you at the Saints’ Game.
 
I also asked Geraldine Marks, the Chapter’s Director of Governance about her involvement with planning our 35th event and what it meant to her, "35 years ago, who would have predicted PMI-MN Chapter would be where we are today. We have accomplished so much over the course of 35 years. We continue to pave the way on how we deliver value to our members, volunteers, businesses and community. Our IT services and processes are one of the most developed, we recently got acknowledged for the region database we put together. We continue to add to our course offerings. At the heart of this is our commitment to delivering value to our members"

Our Chapter has accomplished so much in the past 35 years, and we thank all of our previous and current volunteers and leaders for our tremendous successes.  There was a time when PDD was only 1 day, and today, it is 4 education and networking packed days.  Our membership is up over 3,700 members and retention continues to increase.  The PMI MN Chapter was the 3rd chapter to join PMI GHQ in 1984 and today we are the 14th largest chapter in world.

Chapter Members, we have a lot to be excited about and a lot to celebrate!
