Last month we had our second virtual Professional Development Days (PDD) conference due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic conditions. Thank you to those that joined us for the two-day event of networking, learning, and exceptional level of interaction with the speakers…and each other! Such a fun experience for all who participated! The PDD Committee has already started planning for our 2022 conference event, and we are excited for what our next conference will look like. You can be a part of next year’s PDD event and help shape the experience for yourself and others! If you are interested in assisting with one of the many committees that make our PDD learning event possible, please reach out to: ChairPDD@pmi-mn.org . Throughout the year, we have been highlighting the programs and services that offer to our PMI Minnesota members. We strive to partner with PMI Global on progressing the field of Project Management, and use our role as Changemakers within our companies, our industries, and our individual programs/projects to make incredible differences to change the world! Whether we are hosting “hot topics” presentations at PDD or our monthly Programs meeting, partnering mentors and mentees, or helping our members (and other community participants) ready themselves for their upcoming certification exams…we strive to deliver for our PMI Minnesota member community. In making sure we can meet our members expectation, enhancing our technology for the virtual NOW, and providing the best service and programming possible for the future, we will be implementing a slight increase in member chapter fees, as of January 1, 2022. We look forward to being able to bring you the excellent service and programming that PMI Minnesota has traditionally delivered, and incorporating the new programming in progress from PMI Global as we transition to PMI 4.0! From all of us at PMI Minnesota and throughout our Outreach Communities, November is a month of gratitude. We appreciate our members who support our organization over and through the year(s), our many volunteers that make everything possible in every aspect of the PMI Minnesota organization, our Sponsors that provide support year after year, and our vendor partners that assist with our critical operations. Thank you all for your many contributions throughout 2021 to PMI Minnesota!
Sincerely, Ruth Birkholz, MMIS, PMP® PMI MN President, CEO |

| PMI MN Presents Veteran Appreciation Month!!
"All Staff Non Commissioned Officers and all Military Officers are Project Managers." We have often heard this statement and feel it is definitely true. If we think about a mission, just about everything we are doing or did during our service can be considered a project. The military uses the same basic processes that mirror those described by the Project Management institute (PMI). That is, they plan, execute, and manage operations. One advantage of working with PMI MN to get your PMP is that we have veterans who understand military terminology. They can translate that into PMP terminology to ensure you are getting the full credit for your military projects. Please reach out to PMIMinnesotaMilitaryLiaison@pmi-mn.org to find out how PMI MN can help you achieve not only your goals in obtaining your certification but also in transitioning from the military to the civilian work force. - 10% off PMI MN’s PMP Certification Prep Course
- 1 year of membership to PMI MN at no cost to new members
- 1:1 review of past work experience to help determine readiness for PMP Certification
