A Message From the President: Dear Members, As we look ahead, do you think the weather will finally start to feel like summer, or will the heavy rains persist? It certainly doesn’t feel like summer yet. Personally, I don’t mind the cooler weather – it’s nice to avoid the uncomfortable heat. However, the downside is the increase in bugs on the trails, which can be quite a nuisance. At the end of June, the Operations Committee held their first ever midyear review. A Special thank you to Isiuwa Tanimojo, our President Elect, for organizing the event. I also want to express my gratitude to all Board and Operations leaders who attended and actively participated. The event was a great success, and I hope we can make it a recurring one. It was encouraging to see the engagement, collaboration, and idea-sharing among the teams. Keep up the excellent work. Last month, I shared some of our accomplishments for the year and some of our goals for the second half of the year. One of our upcoming tasks is preparing for our chapter elections. This year, PMI MN leadership along with our 2024 Nominating Chair will host a Virtual Fireside Chat on the evening of Wednesday July 24, 2024. If you are interested in making a difference in the PMI MN Chapter community through volunteerism and leadership, this is an event you do not want to miss. Please register and join us for an informative session on board service, an insight into our individual journeys to PMI MN Board, requirements and expectations. This is a free event, so please register on our website and join us. Professional Development Days (PDD) is just one month away, and we have an impressive lineup of presenters for you. This year’s theme is “High Tech, High Touch, and the World of Project Management,” and registration is now open on our website. This year’s PDD is from August 13 (virtual) to August 15, 2024, at St. Paul College in St. Paul. As part of our 40th-anniversary celebration and to support our members, we consciously decided to keep the rates from last year the same despite inflation. If you have not registered yet, please visit our website and register. We look forward to seeing you at this year’s PDD event in St. Paul. I would like to end by extending a special thanks and good luck to Rachel Mussell, our past Programs Committee Chair, for her contributions to the PMI MN Chapter. We are proud that PMI Global recognizes your talent and leadership as you take on your new role with global. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
In Gratitude,
Geraldine Marks, MBA, PMP®, CSM® CSPO® PMI MN President, CEO
