Message from the President
Welcome PMI Minnesota Community! As spring is just days away, let’s celebrate this reinvigorating season! The snow is melting, trees are budding, and birds are once again soaring through the sky . . . it seems like the world awakens anew! It’s the time to plant colorful flowers, dust off our bikes, and reflect on new possibilities to come. Since this is the season of new beginnings, we are excited to welcome two new members to the PMI Minnesota Board of Directors. Thank you to Matt Mehring, PMP, ACP and Brandon Guthman, M.S. for stepping up and filling our Director-at-Large roles to successfully lead PMI Minnesota! PMI Global and PMI Minnesota are excited to provide you with new resources and opportunities that will support both your career and professional development. One of these resources is PMI MN’s revamped job search service. We now partner with CPS, a global job search and career partner, that offers members both local job postings as well as the full listing of jobs in their database. Our service also provides companies an opportunity to post job openings for the PM community. Click here to explore this service and start applying! Many of our members experienced hardship over the past several months due to the pandemic. We have programs available to support and help you stay engaged in our chapter: •PMI Global’s Hardship Program assists existing members with their PMI Global membership dues. Click here for qualifications and additional information. •PMI Minnesota’s Guest Membership Program covers chapter membership dues for new members who join and serve as a volunteer. To find out more, email our Membership Committee Chair. •PMI Minnesota provides chapter benefits to veterans. We value your service! For details on these benefits, email our Outreach Committee Chair.
When I first joined PMI MN, I was involved on an intermittent basis, attending an occasional breakfast and dinner meeting when my schedule allowed and the topics pertained to my current projects. Once I started attending events regularly and volunteering, I realized first-hand the value of my membership and what opportunities foster by getting engaged. It’s a great way to get to know other members and gain insights from event speakers. We ALWAYS appreciate seeing you (hopefully in-person soon)! Discover the benefits that come with being involved in our chapter at the following events: For those interested in volunteering, check out our Volunteer Fair Event (anyone can attend!).
I look forward to seeing you at our many upcoming events. To view a full list and to register, visit join-us.pmi-mn.org.
Thank you to our members for your engagement, support, and commitment. You are the ones who strengthen our community and advance the PM profession.
Sincerely, Ruth Birkholz, PMP® PMI MN President, CEO |
